The Renault Captur

Renault are set to release an all new Crossover model labelled as the Captur. Renault like many other manufactures observed the success of the Nissan Crossover range in the form of the Qashqai and the Juke models. Renault are set to be the fourth new rival for the Nissan brand since the turn of the year.

The Nissan brand have accused the other manufacturers of congesting the crossover market and contributing to the downfall of the crossover market in terms of the demand. Nissan have stated that since the turn of the year sales have slowed and also mentioned the addition of the Vauxhall Mokka into the market. Although sales have slowed, Nissan still remain in the top ten for car market sales within the UK with both the Qashqai and Juke models. The Renault brand look to use their most valuable asset in the form of the Clio model as a way of increasing the size of the range with other models.

The Renault Captur model is based on the Renault Clio model and really does resemble a Renault Clio. The model appears to be an inflated Renault Clio with bigger headlights. In terms of the pricing structure to rival that of the Nissan and the Vauxhall, Renault are believed to have priced the entry level model at a price of only £12,454. This is already a total of £500 cheaper than the current Nissan Juke model.

Interestingly, Renault have also expressed the desire for customers and all involved in the industry to pronounce the Captur model in the typical British way of Capture and just with the letter e. The Renault Captur will start at £12,454 as mentioned earlier but could rise to as much as £18,895 with all of the specifications and additional features added to the model. The top specification will be the Dynamique like it is with the current Renault Clio range.
