Dubai adopts the Ferrari FF to its police force.

Only in Dubai.

Last month, the Dubai authorities announced that it was modernising its police force and will begin to use the £360,000 Lamborghini Aventador as its choice of vehicle. To read more about this, please click here.

However this month, Dubai’s luxury police force took another unimaginary step and announced that it will add the Ferrari FF to its police force. The decision was announced on the 25th April when leaders of the police force unrevealed the vehicle in Dubai’s infamous green and white police colours, outside the Burj al-Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.

The Ferrari FF boasts a V12 engine that allows it to reach 0-60 mph in an incredible 3.7 seconds. It has a top speed of 208 mph.

A spokesperson for the Dubai police force has said "Dubai is an unique city and everything in it should reflect its uniqueness and for that reason police will add a Ferrari sports car to its patrol fleet. We have been pleasantly surprised for the reaction of people on the Lamborghini, so we said a Ferrari would be a good choice too”.

The police force is currently in the middle of a campaign to stop Dubai’s young drivers from using the city’s deserts as racing tracks and shortcuts, in which they reach speeds of over 100 mph.

It has been reported that the Ferrari will be used by Dubai’s (very few) female police officers, while the male police officers will drive the Lamborghini.

To the surprise of many, this is not the first time when a police force has adopted a luxury vehicle to its police force. In 2004, the Italian police adopted the Lamborghini Gallardo as its choice of vehicle.
