Nissan Murano coming to the UK?

The Nissan Murano is about to release its third generation of models in the US and there have been a number of rumours circling the brand over bringing the model to the UK. The UK has been a very successful market over the past 24 months with the crossover SUV models in the form of the Juke and the Qashqai.

Production of the Murano model has already commenced and the new model will be officially revealed at the New York Motor Show next month. Nissan have arguably been the driving force behind the SUV and Crossover markets in Europe as the likes of the Juke and Qashqai feature in the top ten best selling markets.

It is believed that the Murano model will give motorists in the Uk something new to want and look to buy as well as backing up the other crossover SUV models on the market. Most recently, the Nissan brand has faced a considerable amount of competition following the success of their own models as more and more manufacturers look to claim back vital market share.

Volkswagen have recently announced that they will be joining the SUV market with a new T-Roc concept and have ordered the production of a new Seat and Skoda SUV models. Other competition is due to come in the form of the Citroen C4 Cactus model which has been confirmed to be joining the UK and available at the much cheaper price of £13,000.

This cheaper price is set to be the biggest threat the Nissan brand has faced in terms of competition and pricing competition. The C4 Cactus model is part of the attempts by Citroen to dramatically increase market share and put the brand back on the map and in profitable margins.

The new Nissan Murano model is expected to debut at next months motor show and will be readily available in the market by 2015.
