Subaru BRZ Price Cut

Subaru have announced that they will be cutting prices by as much as £2,500 on the BRZ model. The range topping model will now be available at a price of £23,995 which makes it cheaper than the entry level Toyota GT 86.

Whilst Subaru have confirmed that the BRZ model will be reduced, Toyota has insisted that they have no plans to lower the price of the model. The Japanese manufacturer wanted to ensure that there was a clear difference between the BRZ pricing and the new WRX model which is set to join the UK car market later this year.

The new flagship WRX STI model will be available for somewhere in the region of £28,995. Subaru announced a number of years ago that they would not be expanding the range of models available in the UK. However, since the up turn in the market, Subaru have experienced an increased demand for models in the UK.

At one point the Subaru brand had one model within the range in the UK and that was the Legacy. The Legacy model helped the brand realise that the UK Car Market would be a successful car market if they could lower the price of certain models.

The new price for the BRZ model will come into play at the beginning of May. Subaru have been keen to pass on the favourable exchange rate of which they have had experience with themselves.

In terms of the performance figures for the WRX model, it will be powered by the 2.0 litre four cylinder engine that enables the BRZ model to get from 0-60mph in just 7.6 seconds. The automatic models will be priced slightly higher at just £25,495. The automatic model has wheel mounted gear shift paddles and can complete the 0-62mph sprint in just 8.2 seconds.
