Honda unveil their brand new RCV motorbike
November 14, 2014

Japanese firm Honda have recently revealed the curtain on their brand new RCV machine which has been very much anticipated for the past number of months. Honda are bringing back a retro design style with this brand new addition and this is demonstrated by the bodywork of the bike. It shares a similar design to that of the old RC30 model and comes in a Red and White paint scheme much like the RC30 did. The bike was officially revealed at the Milan motorcycle show in Italy with a concept version revealed and a version for the road also. It was two years ago that the brand confirmed they would be producing an RCV based on that used in the Moto GP by the Honda race team and now the final design plan has finally been revealed.

Are Honda to excite the motorbike world with the new RCV?

So regarding just what the firm have confirmed to find its place in the bike, a set of slim horizontal headlights find a place on the bike as do a set of golden front forks. A side air vent has also been included on the right hand side of the fairing alongside its aluminium frame. Looking at the bike from a rear view, we see that the RCV shares the same layout as current Fireblade models which have the license plate reaching near the top of the back wheel. A lot of motorcycle fans have not been a huge fan of this tail design but it is something that can be easily fixed using a tail tidy kit. Much like many models on the market from Honda, the bike has the one exhaust which is located directly under the pillion seat. A direct fuel injection system and the Honda HUD display that we all know and love is to make a return this time around.

A concept version of the bike has also been displayed which shown the model in just a carbon fibre design much like models are looking during their testing phases. This machine was rode onto the stage by the Moto GP world champion from the Honda team, Marc Marquez. Nothing has been confirmed yet regarding the engine specs to come along with the model or what performance rates the machine will benefit from but more is to be revealed closer to the time.

When will the RCV be available for order?

An exact release date for this brand new model is yet to be revealed by Honda but it is believed that the order books on this particular model could open up as early as mid way through 2015 with a launch to soon follow. As soon as more information has been revealed on this model we will keep you updated. With other big models being revealed from the event such as the new Kawasaki addition the H2 and the BMW s1000rr, the competition is set to be fierce for Honda but will past experiences with their Fireblade models put them in good measure for the future?.
