Vauxhall Viva set for Geneva-Nissan Leaf best seller-Citroen Berlingo success
January 23, 2015

It is no secret that the Nissan Leaf has quickly climbed the ranks as one of the biggest selling Electric Vehicles to ever go on sale. However recent statistics have shown that for the fourth straight year, it has once again been named the best selling EV of the year for 2014. The company have seen a tremendous amount of success with the car since it first went on sale in 2010. One of the most recent updates in 2014 shown that by the month of November the vehicle had sold 150,000+ plus units on a world wide scale. For the whole of 2014 in just Europe alone, we saw the Leaf sell 14,658 new units. Nissan will look to add to that tally this year but does the growing rate of competition go in their favour to demonstrate their success as the most successful EV or will other competitors in the same segment take over the number one position this year?.

Vauxhall to reveal their new Viva in Geneva

For the first time in over thirty years, the Viva from Vauxhall is all set to return to the road alongside its city car siblings. We have already heard about the specs to come along with the car and know what to expect. One thing we didn't know when to expect though was when the car would be seen for the first time. Vauxhall have now cleared that issue up for us by revealing that the new Viva will be displayed for the very first time ever in two months time from the Geneva Motor Show. The brand have confirmed that only one engine option will be made available with the returning Viva and that is to consist of a 1.0 litre,Ecotec engine unit. Vauxhall have stuck to their routes with the actual body design of the car but at the same time have updated it to be more modern as demonstrated by Apple and Android connectivity to the drivers smartphone. It will be great to see the return of a classic city car to the road and we look forward to hearing more on the specific details in Geneva.

The Citroen Berlingo winning awards

The Berlingo from the Citroen brand has been awarded the best business van of the year award. Facing some tough competition from the likes of the Ford Transit and the Vauxhall Vivaro the Berlingo earns its rightful spot right at the top of the ladder. There were some tough challenges coming the way of the Berlingo in the nominations for the award and it managed to walk away with the prize over the likes of the Amarok and the Transporter from Volkswagen. Only two versions of the Berlingo have gone on sale since the vans debut in 1996 with the most recent second generation arriving in 2008.For the second generation van being on the road for the past seven years this comes as a huge accomplishment for Citroen and one that can be held high as far as their companies success is concerned.
